Bucks coach Adrian Griffin says Michael Jordan is the GOAT

Apr 27, 2023

Milwaukee Bucks new head coach Adrian Griffin is making the media rounds after an introductory press conference on Tuesday. But it wasn't the longtime basketball reporters asking the most interesting questions — it was the Bucks' social media team.

Griffin weighed in on the brewing debates of coffee or tea, Batman or Superman, and even declared a GOAT, among other proclamations for the team's "tiny mic" series.

Griffin agreed to contract terms with the Bucks on Monday, making the 48-year-old the 17th head coach in franchise history. He started his coaching career with the Bucks in 2008 under head coach Scott Skiles. He recently was an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors.

At Tuesday's news conference, Griffin had to field questions from very serious reporters, but the Bucks wanted to lighten the mood and ask some more fun questions.

Coffee. Griffin is a coffee over tea guy. And he prefers Batman to Superman. Wisconsin will have a lot to offer Griffin in the summer as he prefers the beach to the mountains.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his dad jokes haven't quite made an impact on Griffin, as he says the funniest player he's ever coached is Ronnie Brewer, who was with Griffin in Chicago. Griffin did add that it is "to be determined" if he has better jokes than Giannis.

The coach didn't have a favorite basketball jersey growing up. He said his own. He loves the No. 44, "because it was the only number for big kids back then." And as for kicks, Griffin likes Nike Shocks.

If Griffin has any kind of say in the basketball court or the jerseys the Bucks play in, then fans might be seeing blue a lot.

Those in Milwaukee who witnessed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar play basketball live, and those who continue to act as a witness to Lebron James' greatness, may disagree with Griffin, but the coach took a stance and said that he would most like to coach Michael Jordan "because he's the GOAT."
