State water polo: Bears fall to Cougars 12

The Baldwin High School girls water polo team lost to Kaiser 12-4 in the quarterfinals of the HHSAA state championship Thursday afternoon at Kamehameha Kapalama.

Mikela DeAguiar led the Bears (9-3) — the No. 4 seed as champions of the Maui Interscholastic League — with two goals. Mariah Kuehu and Jasmine Devery also scored for Baldwin, which will face Hawaii Prep in a consolation semifinal today at 4:45 p.m.

Jaime Farah scored six goals to lead the Cougars. Kimie Ginoza added three goals, Emi Chrash had two and Ashley Kaisho one for Kaiser, which will face Kamehameha Kapalama in the semifinals today.
