Min Yoon-gi, known by his stage name "Suga" derived inspiration from his role as a shooting guard on his team. Suga created the name by merging the initial parts of the word ‘Shooting guard."
Meanwhile, in recent news, Suga, who once disclosed his admiration for Damian Lillard, revealed who he idolized in the league while growing up.

Suga primarily gained recognition for his role as a rapper in the band, BTS. However, he has often shown off his passion for basketball. Suga is an avid basketball lover who often shares his love of the game through his music and social media posts. He even made a reference to LeBron James while wearing a Tune Squad basketball jersey in the music video for the pop-hit ‘Dynamite’. He often sought refuge and found solace in playing basketball, as revealed in the song, "Intro: The Most Beautiful Moment In Life," which he had written. The player has also attended multiple NBA games.
The 30-year-old rapper/producer recently appeared in an interview where he revealed who his basketball icon was while growing up.

In an interview with SiriusXM, Suga was asked if he had any favorite basketball teams or players that he rooted for.
He said, "I grew up watching the NBA. I didn't have a specific team I rooted for but I did have a favorite player. When I first started playing basketball, I idolized one player and that's Allen Iverson. "
Suga then revealed how he spent his youth focused on making music. Owing to this, he didn't get much time to watch the games.

He then went on to talk about his first live NBA game. Suga said, "In 2019, I had a chance to watch the game in person in LA. When I saw Damian Lillard shoot 54 points, I knew that moment that I was going to be the fan of him."
