One of the most dynamic defensive players in Alabama football history now has his NFL number as a rookie.
Will Anderson Jr., the No. 3 overall pick of the NFL Draft, has his jersey for the Houston Texans.
The native Georgian will wear No. 51 under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans.
He was not able to return to his high school number, No. 28, or his college number, No. 31, but Anderson will rock No. 51. He finished his career for the Crimson Tide with 34.5 sacks and 62 tackles for loss. Anderson earned several individual honors in his tenure, including two-time Bronko Nagurski Award winner, two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and two-time Unanimous First-Team All-American. He became the first player in Alabama history to be a two-time Unanimous All-American. Anderson helped the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020 and two Southeastern Conference Championships.
