Tyler Herro might be in a Miami Heat uniform instead of a bucket hat during the NBA Finals
Despite the fact that his Miami Heat team are in the NBA Finals, this hasn't been the best postseason for Tyler Herro.
Usually counted on to go get buckets for his team, Herro's main contribution during pro basketball's second season has been mostly various bucket hats.
The former Whitnall High School star broke his hand in Game 1 of the opening playoff series with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Then, while sitting on the bench during the series with the Boston Celtics last week, TNT analyst and former Heat and Wisconsin coach Stan Van Gundy criticized Herro for his fashion sense.
Herro responded by ripping Van Gundy's coaching on social media.
Van Gundy punched back with a common jab at Herro's overall age group.
It's all been about what Herro's been wearing, but we may get to see him in uniform soon.
TNT's Chris Haynes reported that the target date for Herro to return to action is Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which will be June 7 in Miami.
On Tuesday afternoon, Herro added that he's "trying to get back as soon as possible."
Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 67 games this year and shot 38% on three-pointers.
With those numbers, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra would prefer that Herro don a Heat jersey in June.
